Active Listening
This course helps the student to be a good listener, and to be a better and more productive communicator by focusing their mind on the gist and content of a conversation and not let emotions or preconceptions interfere.

Feedback
Feedback is key to any interactive situation, at home, in social settings, or at work. This course defines feedback and its purpose and benefit. It teaches how to prepare, practice, and give constructive feedback.

Involvement
Being involved and involving others benefits an interactive, cooperative situation, especially in the classroom. The focus of this course is involving students, but the principles apply universally. Subjects include establishing objectives, gaining participation, using presentation aids, constructive assignments, creating learning situations, and setting challenging, attainable goals.

Making a Presentation
Being able to make a smooth, positive, and clear presentation is a benefit to everyone’s pride, professional image, and often a person’s success. Emphasis is on three critical steps of presentations: preparation, delivery, and making your message clear, positive, and relevant.

Motivation
Motivating others to a common cause or goal is a necessary skill of every leader. This course examines and explains what motivation is, how to establish a motivational environment, and the factors of motivation.

Questioning Techniques
Questions are a basic of information exchange and clarification. Good questions results in useful information in any situation. The purpose and benefits of questioning, types of questions and use of each, and questioning techniques are all taught in this course.

Remembering Names
Being able to remember names is important and beneficial to everyone and a problem to most. This course examines why we forget or don’t “catch” a name and provides tips for remembering names.

Using the Right Words
People judge us by the words we use. Using the right words creates a positive image and makes communicating more clear. This course considers grammar, tone (considerate vs. demeaning speech) and sensitivity issues.

Using Visual Aids
This stand alone course is also a companion and continuation of the “Making a Presentation” course. Types of visual aids, creating visual aids, and the proper use of visual aids are all examined.

Working with Different Personalities
Different personality types affect many aspects of our personal lives and professional careers. This course examines different personality types, their characteristics, common behavior problems and challenges, conflict resolution, and forming differing personalities into productive teams.
