Leadership Development Courses

Organization
This orientation addresses the new skills, concepts, and techniques needed by people entering a leadership position. An overview of responsibilities, images, goal setting, and assessments are addressed. This sets the stage and positions the student for subsequent courses in this series.

Communication
The skills, concepts, and techniques needed by managers is addressed in the areas of basic components of communication, the role, advantages, and disadvantages of written and verbal communication in business and the communication cycle is presented.

Leadership Behaviors
Leadership is presented as the ability of a person to convince others to perform or act in a particular way. Areas of leadership behavior, personality styles, personal growth, and causes of behavior patterns are explored.

Team Building
The premise of this course is that building a good and productive team is no accident. It takes preparation and groundwork, choosing team members, identification of goals and allocation, and/or organizing resources, and much more.
Motivation
This course explores how and why motivation incents people to act and instills the determination to continue applying themselves. The principle of human motivation, hierarchy of needs, motivating today’s workers, and motivational ideas are presented and explored.
